I’d say it’s worth double-checking the sizing to make sure it doesn’t end up looking tiny or stretched. I usually use Canva—just set it to 300x300 for skins, and for stuff like swords, go with 260x280. Then, just adjust it so it fits without looking weird.
For bakckgrounds, I use remove bg to get rid of any extras
