Well what if the friends want to fight?

Iā€™m thinking of adding a follower system where you get a notification if someone you follow join.

You will also see their name and icon in the minimap a different color so you always know where they are

That could ruin the hiding aspect. If I follow you for example, I can always find you to kill you.

i like the idea of being able to know when ur friends were and are online. this combined with the addition of clans would be a great update. but the minimap is already op as is, so maybe just add a name highlight for clan/friends.
